Postby fruitysupra on Thu May 21, 2009 8:02 am

hi, have been trying over the last week to get this to work on my phone. now the o-60 is fine but the bhp is really low.
its giving me a max of about 80bhp when i know is at least triple that.
any ideas?
has anyone set this up on a supra and got it working?

Do you have the phone calibrated and securely mounted? Also one other factor that has been mentioned is that when you are trying to do a run for horsepower you want to be smooth with your takeoff and shifts. So if you want to get a more accurate horsepower reading you should probably take it easy on the start and then roll on the throttle in second or third gear.

I feel that I too have been having this problem.

My car should have around 260 HP at the crank and the app is only showing 130 HP at the wheels. That's 50% drive train loss, and although my car is AWD, I don't think I should be loosing that much HP.

I have tried calibrating a number of times with no luck and have done a few runs in different ways.

If your numbers are off by a large margin, chances are it's a mounting problem. Your phone can not move at all, even a fraction of an inch, when running your tests. 99% of the time the issue is mounting (the other 1% it's faulty hardware).
